- PICK UP YOUR DATES
Our tour season begins April 1st and ends on October 31st.
You may schedule your tour for any date you desire within this period. However, there are tours which are better indicated for summer ridings and others which are preferable in shoulder seasons. Contact us for advice.

- PREPARING FOR YOUR TRIP
Our pre-departure kit, that you will receive by mail before going on tour, includes lots of information which you'll find useful in preparing for your trip.

- CHECKING TOUR LEVEL
Randotrek’s routes are designed to go on a bike vacation, not on a race. Our pace, at every level is relaxed. Our tours can be enjoyed by people who exercise regularly or that at least plans a pre-trip training.
On each tour, you will find a Tour Profile that will help you to select the right tour that suits your ability and endurance (total and average daily distances, % of dirt roads, terrain and daily overall elevation gain. Other useful information are included in the Tour Itinerary section of each tour.

Average cycling time is usually not more than 4-6 hours a day. It is important to remember, however, that even the most disciplined traveler can be sidetracked by a myriad of unexpected delightful diversions, such as a prolonged picnic lunch, an in-depth conversation over a coffee at an inviting café, an unscheduled visit to find out more about local history and culture or just the desire to take a break and relax on one of the lake beaches or bathe in hot thermal springs.

- PLANNING YOUR TOUR BUDGET

We offer 4 Touring Packages with different levels of support and prices. Moreover, you are free to choose the type of accommodation you prefer for your overnights (campings, 2/3 star or 3/4 star hotels, etc.).
Please note, tables DO NOT include airfare, train fare, travel insurance and main meals. Of course, your actual cost may differ from the estimated cost shown in the tables depending upon the period you plan to go on tour and if your hotel reservations will be possible in our first choice accommodations.

- PLANNING YOUR ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE IN ITALY
Direct flights from USA to Fiumicino International Airport (Rome) usually land in the morning before 10 -11 AM. European flights, instead, are available all day long.
Airport train connections to the city are frequent and in 25 min you can get to Roma Termini (the main Roman train station). If you want to get directly to the tour start point, you should get off at Roma Ostiense instead, and from there catch a local train to destination. You will also need to take a short ride on a local bus or taxi to reach your first accommodation. On tours 1 & 2 you can opt for packages that include transfer service from the airport/Roman rail stations directly to first accommodation.

For bikers coming in on intercontinental flights, we suggest arriving a couple of days earlier in order to overcome jet lag and to get acclimated, and departing on evening flights.
You may wish to sightsee the Eternal City a couple of days before tour starts. In that case, it is easy to get to tour starting points from Rome: you just take the underground to reach the stations where local or regional trains to destination are available.
At the end of tour, you can easily reach the main stations in Rome to catch the connection to the Airport. Those who plan to continue their journey to other parts of Italy or Europe by train will find international rail connections available in almost all the towns where tours end.
In our
pre-departure kit you will find all info you need to plan your arrival and departure.

- PLANNING FOR THE UNFORSEEN

Of course, there are a variety of reasons why one might have to cancel his/her tour with little or no notice. For this reason we highly recommend that all travelers consider the purchase of travel insurance as a protection against unforeseen events. You can arrange a short–term traveler’s insurance policy covering: baggage loss/damage, accident/life, health and trip cancellation. Travel insurance provides reimbursement for non-refundable purchases you have made, subject to the insurance provider's conditions (see our Travel Planner for web insurance finders).

- OUR CANCELLATION POLICY
- For cancellations received 90 days or more before tour start date, the client will receive a refund for deposit less 50,00 Euro per person for administration and handling fees.
- For cancellations received between 89 and 60 days before tour start date, deposit will not be refundable.
- For cancellations received between 59 and 30 days before tour start date, 50% of total amount will not be refundable.
- For cancellations received 29 days or less before tour start date the client will not receive any refund of the amount paid to Randotrek nor any credit.

Since we are not able to change our refund policy under any circumstances, we strongly recommend you be adequately insured before going on tour.
